I've had a great experience overall at MHS considering my freshman and part of my Sophom*ore year were online or hybrid learning due to the covid pandemic.
This wasn't a typical start to a high school experience, but everyone at MHS - teachers and technology staff especially - reacted quickly and shifted all students to online learning. They did a remarkable job keeping us engaged and connected - both socially and technically.
I have a great group of friends, some of which have been my best friends since Kindergarten. We can talk openly on so many levels. They've been really supportive.
My counselor is AMAZING. He is so kind and easy to talk with that even kids that aren't assigned to him request to meet with him.
I've had some great teachers and a few that I didn't gel with, but I am sure that is pretty normal.
MHS has really good school spirit, and sense of community. I will miss the closeness of my MHS community but hope to stay in close touch with most, if not all of them!

I have enjoyed my time at Tonka. I feel very ready for college, and the opportunities offered for me throughout the years have been incredible. Minnetonka benefits from being very wealthy, which allows for things like a well-funded research program, but also contributes to a (at times) over-privileged student body. The AP courses offered are numerous, and the IB Diploma program is an unparalleled experience and I am so grateful to have had it as an option. Tonka is full of nerdy overachievers mixed with others who take it less seriously. Both help make Tonka what it is: a smart, fun-loving, huge school. Teachers are generally great, but there's a non-zero chance you end up with an ineffective and frustrating teacher for an entire year. I'd say one of the biggest curses and advantages that Tonka has is it's size. The library never has seats, and football games are incredibly uncomfortable, but the people you meet and the opportunities offered are great. Love Tonka despite its flawss!

Minnetonka High School has plenty of resources and offers many advanced courses that are not offered in surrounding schools. They offer both AP, IB, dual enrollment, and a well founded research program, which I’ve taken advantage of or plan to take advantage of. They’ve also expanded, and offer many career based programs that are unique and help students beyond high school. One thing I would like to see change is more prioritization of speech and debate, and other similar extracurriculars. Although lacking in diversity due to being located in a primarily white area, they’ve made efforts to encourage diversity through school events, clubs, and open enrollment. Overall, this school is excellent for academics, and has fairly good school culture.
