Insider Exposure put on a fall league for elementary through high school girls in Collierville, TN. The fall league runs every Saturday starting August 28th through October 2nd, skipping the Labor Day weekend. In this league, there are high school girls from Arkansas, Tennessee, and Mississippi. The high school division consisted of 6 teams with 60 or so players. There were some good players that stood out and showed some potential. Check out the list of players that caught my attention.

Ashauni Corley Ashauni Corley 5'8" | CG Episcopal Collegiate | 2023 State AR | Guard | Episcopal High School | 2023

Every time you see Ashauni play, you will see someone that plays with the same aggressive nature. She’s always putting pressure on the defense with her attacking mentality on offense and her on-ball defense. She handled it well, knocked down some shots, got to the line, and displayed good footwork on some of her finishes.

Rachel Griffin Rachel Griffin 6'3" | C Rossville Christian Academy | 2024 State TN | Center | Fayette-Ware High School | 2024

Rachel was by far has the most promise of any of the players I saw. She’s athletic, has long arms, a great understanding of the game, and she stands around 6’3. Now she’s listed as a center, and I could tell she was comfortable playing there, but she could easily transition to a permanent wing player before she graduates high school. When she decides she wants to dominate she can. She protected the paint by blocking and altering shots, snagging defensive rebounds, and using her length as an intimidation factor. What makes her special is her ability to showcase guard skills by pushing it on the break and finish it herself or use her vision to find an open teammate.

Jerrilyn Richardson | Guard | Memphis Central High School | 2022

I appreciate guards like Jerrilyn. They typically play hard and with passion. You can tell they are competitors by the look on their faces while competing. What caught my attention wasn’t scoring or anything fancy, it was her decision-making and ability to handle the ball. Knowing when to push it, slow it down, and how to attack to make plays without over-dribbling.

Lillian Jackson Lillian Jackson 6'0" | C Central | 2022 State AR | Center/Forward | Little Rock Central High School | 2022

Lillian is one of those players you see and you would immediately think low post player, but she shows flashes of her perimeter skills. I think she has the ability to display her perimeter skills more often. For her size she handles the ball well. She can hit her defender with combo moves to create space, she plays unselfish (sometimes too unselfish by missing opportunities to make plays), and has a solid presence on defense.

Janiyah Tucker Janiyah Tucker 5'4" | PG West Memphis | 2023 State AR | G | West Memphis High School | 2023

I’ve seen Janiyah a few times on film, but I finally got the chance to see her in person and she was exactly who I thought she was. A player that was about her business. Janiyah is a player that’s going to give you her best effort despite the score, who’s on the floor, or the situation. She’s a quick guard that can shoot the three. When she’s handling the ball it looks as though it’s an extension of her arm. She makes it difficult to stay in front of her, not because of her speed and quickness, but because of her shiftiness and ability to combine change of speed and change of direction. When she has it in the open court and is running at you full speed all I can say is good luck trying to contain the ball. Also, defensively she gets after you and forces you to make tough shots.

Tierney Kelsey | Guard | Arlington High School | 2024

I really enjoy watching players that play with a good pace. They don’t rush things or try to do too much. Tierney is one of those players. There were some instances where things just seem to be easy for her. She excelled in transition allowing her athleticism to be on display. She displayed great vision on the drive and showed the ability to pass off the dribble. Being physical didn’t slow her down because she could play through contact. Defensively she was also a solid defender.

Aniya Price | Guard | Academies of West Memphis | 2024

Aniya is a player that just plays solid throughout the game. I really like players that can have a hold on a game and you don’t realize it until after you look at the stat sheet. That’s when you see the impact they had on the game. Aniya played well and you could tell, but she was a silent assassin. She finished in transition in a variety of crafty ways, handles the ball, and can knock down the catch and shoot three.

Mauryah Jones Mauryah Jones 5'4" | PG Rossville Christian Academy | 2024 State TN | Guard | Fayette-Ware High School | 2024

Your size might be bigger than Mauryah but I bet your heart won’t be. She played hard the whole game. Not in spurts, not towards the end, but the whole game. She got after you on defense with her quick feet, quick hands, and anticipation. Offensively she attacks well off the bounce, getting in the lane to collapse the defense for the kick out. She also showed she get the ball up quickly on the backboard with a soft touch for the finish before the defense rotated over.

Krystyna Boyd | Guard | Collierville High School | 2022

Emma was one of the first players to get my attention by how hard she played. In this type of environment, some players try to do too much or don’t take it seriously. Emma wasn’t one of those players. She played hard on both ends and demonstrated the ability to play through contact off the dribble. When she got downhill she was tough to stop.
