  • "The Third Base Side of Angel Stadium Gets Shade First"

Home plate faces Northeast, so the sun will be at the back of seats on the third base side for late afternoon and evening games. For the most amount of shade at Angel Stadium, consider the 200 seats. These are located just behind the 100 seats and are shaded by the 300 club seats above. A significant overhang in the upper level does a good job of blocking the sun for the last 12-15 rows, especially on the 3B side. Avoid Outfield seating in Right Field (236-249) which offer zero protection from the sun and will be the last seats to see the shade....More

    • Is Section 209 Row A in the shade during an August game at Angel Stadium?

      Asked June 27, 2013

With home plate facing north east and the overhanging 2nd deck above, section 209 should be almost entirely in the shade during an August game. This is the view from Section 209 at Angel Stadium, which is a shaded section....More

    "Comfortable and convenient" -

    Section 202, Row H, Seat 17

My seat was near the back of the 200 level, so originally I was concerned that the large overhanging club seating deck above was going to be an issue for my view. But it turned out to be great and the overhang only became an issue on extremely high pop-ups and when I wanted to see the secondary video board in left field (which is pretty much cut in half by the overhang). But there are replay monitors mounted to the overhang for additional viewing, and I could still see the larger video board located above right center field decently as well. The great thing about sitting here is how comfortable the seats were. The seats could have faced the infield more, but they seemed wide and comfortable, and were very nicely protected from the hot sun by the overhang. A nice breeze came through every so often adding to the comfort, and I was just three rows down from the concourse that was just above the section (which seemed to be just for the 200 level sections). Restrooms and concessions are incredibly close by for easy trips to and from the seats.I would definitely sit here again as the comfort, convenience, and overhead protection are tough to beat....More

"Views are better higher up in the Club Level" -

    Section 305, Row H, Seat 1

I've sat in the front row of the club level and closer to home plate, but the views from where I was in Section 305 Row H were far better. I could see more of the field from these seats thanks to the elevation above the railing at the front of the club seating deck (which really blocks some of the view in the lower rows). In the last row it was easy to get to and from the restrooms, and with in-seat wait service there's no need to leave the seats to get any concessions.I enjoyed not having anyone behind me so I could stand and stretch out a bit without worrying about ruining the view for the fans behind. The overhanging seating deck isn't huge above the Club level seats, but in Row H it provides pretty good protecting from the sun and the weather.Sitting higher up in the club level is definitely the way to go, and I much prefer the third base side as it tends to get more breeze than those over on the first base side....More

"Best views are in the 200 level" -

    Section 209, Row F, Seat 23

These were among my favorite seats at Angels Stadium. The 200 level is great for being in the shade as the overhanging deck above covers the seats well. I also had an amazing viewing height from where I was sitting in Row F, with great angles down to the field and nearly every inch of the field visible from where I was watching (left field corner is blocked out a little bit). Seats were nice and wide, very comfortable, with generous legroom and cupholders mounted to the backs of the seats just in front. I could still see both video boards, but the stadium also has monitors placed on the overhang just in case.I would definitely recommend these seats for the baseball enthusiasts of the world, thanks to the great viewing height, comfortable seating, and protection from the weather....More

"A heavy dose of afternoon sun" -

    Section 531, Row M, Seat 17

The seats are slightly angled towards the infield, pointing more towards second base instead of center field (which is where I would have been facing had the seats not been angled at all). But it wasn't quite enough of a tilt as I was still looking to my left to follow the game. Legroom up here isn't the best for taller fans, but there are cupholders mounted to the backs of the seats in front, which is a nice perk to have on the upper level. But be prepared for a good amount of sun during late afternoon games as the roof above can do little to block out the sun as it begins to set. With the sun beating down during the late afternoon, it got pretty warm in the seats, and the lack of breeze wasn't helping either. ...More

    "Great during batting practice!" -

    Section 239, Row WW

If you're expecting good things from a Row marked WW, you might want to reset your expectations. This was about the 30th row from the field in the outfield, which put it at about 450 feet from home plate (too far for home runs). So unless you're wearing your really, really thick spectacles, you're not going to see a lot of detail on the infield.

The seats are sunny early on, but get better as the sun falls behind the stadium. If you're considering sitting here it's probably because you want cheap seats on the lower level. If that's the case, these are fine for a family or group of buddies who aren't totally into the game. Otherwise, choose similarly priced seats in the upper deck for full views of the field.

"One of the only OK seats in Section 134" -

    Section 134, Row BB

These seats are near the dreaded RF corner where seeing half the field is considered awesome. Row BB is actually the first row behind the wall. The wall is pretty tall and if you have kids, there is a zero percent chance they can see over it. And if you're an adult, there's a very good chance you'll have to stand to see the entire field.

Seats were smoking hot and right in the sun. But it eventually sets and you get all the legroom you want in the first row.

Row BB in Section 134 is one of the few rows that aren't totally obstructed. And you're better off avoiding 134 and 135 altogether.

    "Fantastic View!" -

    Section 330, Row H, Seat 9

Now these are some great seats. They're as close as you can get to behind homeplate on the 300 level. The Press Box is just off to your left and the views of the field are top-notch and you can even see the mountains in the distant.

Seats are padded on the bottom and a waiter comes by about an hour before the game and again throughout to take your food and drink order. There aren't a lot of concession options on the club cconcourse, but there is one near to section 330.

Row H is great for the club level, but make sure to stay away from Row A.

"Probably the worst seats in all of baseball" -

    Section 433, Row A, Seat 9

Are you kidding me with these seats? Let me count the ways they suck:
The railing and foul pole are highly distracting
The sun is out to get you
The un-even and steep stairs will make a priest look drunk
    Where's my cupholder?

Do not sit here. Do not sit anywhere in Row A on the 400 level. Don't sit this far down the foul-line on this level and try to stay out of RF if you can. At the very least, get seats in Row A in the 500 seats. They should be cheaper and you'd end up moving there from these seats anyways.

"Can't see half the field" -

    Section 236, Row A, Seat 10

The outfield seats at the Big A are cheap for good reason. The views are just plain bad. There isn't an outfield seat in RF that can see the warning track. And Row A is worse than the typical seat. The relatively high wall and railing can really get in your way. If you stand, you can see more of the field, but good luck doing that with 50 rows of fans behind you.

Ideal for batting practice (but definitely bring the shades), but not a lot of fun for a full nine innings.

"Obstruced view and cut-through aisle" -

    Section 511, Row E, Seats 1-4

DON'T EVER BUY seats in Row E.

    1. It sits over the entrance way to the level so there's constant traffic and noise below.

    2. There is an extra set of steps that ends between seats 4 and 5 which means a bunch of people who have NO NEED to walk in front of you do it anyway.

    3. Your view is also blocked by the people on the extra set of steps.

    4. There is a 3 foot metal rail with a grate that blocks your view of OVER HALF THE FIELD.

    Buyer beware!!!!

    "Perfect for partying" -

    Section 246, Row D

I don't like being a million miles away from everything that's going on, but you actually get a comfortable view of the field from up here. You're not gonna see the last 40 feet leading up to the wall below you. But if you're looking for a (very sunny) place to hang and have a couple beers, these aren't terrible.

Diehard Angels fans probably want to find something closer to the field or at least something will better views of everything.

"Beautiful view from this seat" -

    Section 221, Row B, Seat 16

I think the 200 seats are the best in the ballpark. The second row in Section 221 has a gorgeous view of the entire field and the scoreboard. The height to the field is outstanding.

The seats are fully covered and shaded, which made for a wonderfully comfortable experience.

There are some terrible seats at Angel Stadium, but 200 sections on the infield are just the opposite!

    "Hot and close!" -

    Section 131, Row E, Seat 8

These seats were blazing hot before the game started. The sun is all over you until it sets behind the stadium (which it did before first pitch at 7:05 in late August).

You're super close to the field, which I love. But the angle towards homplate is not so good. You're head-on to the scoreboard, but have to turn to see most of the action on the infield.

    "24 & 25" -

    Section 208, Row A, Seat 1

These seats are shaded and covered, which are necessary while here for an afternoon game. Currently 104 degrees for a 1pm game. 25 is the aisle seat, which is nice but it's a heavily trafficked area. So it's annoying to have people constantly walking in front of you. I would suggest sitting up a little higher. Also no cup holders in this first row....More

    "Awesome infield seats!" -

    Section 124, Row L, Seat 16

Great view of the infield between home and first base behind the visitor dugout. The height of being in Row L made it easy to see the whole field.

The seats have a real good view of the LF scoreboard. They were shaded well at about 5:30, but one section over wasn't shaded yet. So for a 3pm game, they're probably going to be a bit sunny.

Good legroom in these seats and good views from just past the infield dirt. Seats were pretty comfortable but definitely sunny in the afternoon.

Perfect for an out-of-town fan looking for a good view near the visitor's dugout.
