Since they were very young, the boys have loved doing science experiments at home. Now as they are older, they can mix things themselves and do more elaborate experiments (with adult supervision still, of course!).
We were recently invited to test out a couple of MEL Science subscription boxes, and we were super excited to check them out.
The MEL Science subscription consists of a psychical and virtual subscription. Subscription starts at US$ 26.20
You will receive a monthly delivery of a box with hands-on experiments covering a designated topic. And digitally, you also receive access to Virtual Reality lesson packs that can be done online, plus you get access tolive webinars conducted by rock-star science teachers.
As a subscriber, you get access to the MEL Science app, where you can find a virtual assistant to make the experiments easier and a wide range of science content.
The monthly experiments are designed to be fun, safe, and tested with kids. Each experiment includes a booklet with detailed step-by-step instructions, including information on disposal once you finish the experiments. They also only send substances allowed in children’s chemistry sets by The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) for extra safety.
To subscribe, you can visit their website and start with the Chemistry course (you can switch to another one later on). After that, you will receive a chemistry kit with 2-3 experiments each month.
The first delivery also contains your FREE Starter Kit and VR headset that contains all the essential items you need to use when doing the experiments, including:
• Borosilicate glass beaker and flask
• Macro lens
• Safety glasses and a tray
• VR headset
• Smartphone/tablet stand
• Solid fuel burner
We received two boxes with experiments, and the boys loved doing them. Everything is set up, so it is safe and fun, and they get to learn about science and chemistry while they do them.
Their “Tin” Chemistry set was so much fun to explore. And something we loved was that the set contains enough materials to do the experiments a few times, so if you have multiple children, they can each take a turn to experiment on their own.
Because you get the Starter Kit and each box contains all the necessary tools, it is easy to start experimenting as soon as you get the package. Such a fun subscription for a family!
This would make a fantastic holiday gift idea or even a birthday gift for a child who loves science and would love to learn while having fun!
You can find more details on their website, shipping is not free for Canada, but for the USA shipping is always free. If you use code OSM50, you can get a 50% discount for any subscriptions for 1st month.
Disclosure: This is a paid sponsored post. However, all views and opinions are 100% my own.
